Community Staff Nurse, Band 5

Full Time: 37.50 hours per week

District Nursing – London Borough of Bexley

Opportunities have arisen for dynamic band 5 nurses on either a full or part time basis to join our Day Bexley District Nursing teams. The teams are based in the London Borough of Bexley but service is provided by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. 

Those joining these teams will gain many opportunities to learn new skills to care for complex patients in their home environment. They will develop into an expert community staff nurse with the opportunity of studying for the specialist practitioner DN course.

The Bexley District nursing teams hours worked are:-

Day District nursing service   operates between 08.00 and 17.00hrs  

Twilight District nursing service operates between 17.00 and 23.00hrs

We are offering flexibility within these hours.

The post holder needs to be energised and motivated to deliver the very highest standards of nursing care to housebound patients alongside the Senior District Nurse. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate autonomous clinical decision making and initiative. Good communication skills are essential.

We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses and offer a supportive preceptorship programme to ensure that the care that they deliver is highly skilled and patient-focused.

Due to the requirement to be able to travel across the Borough in a timely manner, a full driver’s licence is essential as well as access to a car for work purposes. – There is a salary sacrifice scheme lease car scheme available for all Oxleas employees
