People Experience Lead for London Prisons, Band 7

Secondment/ Fixed Term: Six months

Full Time: 37.5 hours per week

This newly created role will sit independently within the Forensic and Prisons Directorate to fully embed people experience in the London Prisons – HMP Belmarsh, Thameside, Isis and Wandsworth. The post holder will be a Registered Nurse with extensive clinical experience in a forensic and/or prison setting, demonstrating resilience, emotional intelligence and ability to deal sensitively with highly complex situations.

The remit of this post holder will be to focus on the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people, providing additional support particularly post-incident with violence, aggression, death and suicide. In addition to this the post holder will support those on long term sick, some of whom with long term health conditions to facilitate a clear pathway to return to work.

The purpose of this post is to provide front-facing, visible and accessible support by offering daily face-to-face onsite clinics directly at HMP Belmarsh, Thameside, Isis and Wandsworth to people, perform welfare visits and maintain regular contact with those not at work to support the transition back to work.
