Do you have a passion for supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or physical and learning disabilities to meet their full potential?
We have a great opportunity available for a suitably experienced Speech and Language Therapist with skills in working with primary and secondary age students within special schools.
The post holder will work in the Greenwich Children's Speech and Language Therapy services across the special needs schools in the borough.
You will be part of a close-knit and innovative multi-disciplinary team, working collaboratively with Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy colleagues, in addition to other health and education staff. You will provide assessment, specialist, and universal level management and support for children with learning and communication needs.
You will work alongside teachers and teaching assistants, providing training, coaching, shared planning and modelling of specific approaches, including the use of AAC.
You will establish links with tertiary centres to provide collaborative and holistic support for students.
You will be working with students with significant learning and communication difficulties with diagnoses such as ASD and/or physical and learning disabilities.
Experience of supporting students with dysphagia is desirable, but not essential.
You will have the opportunity to develop a relevant specialism to the caseload and to take a lead on developing this across the Speech and Language Therapy teams.
The department offers:
- An extensive and supportive clinical team with access to Highly Specialist and Principal Therapists within clinical specialisms
- Excellent CPD opportunities for growth and development tailored to your specific needs.
- Designated admin and planning time
