Substance Misuse Nurse Practitioner, Band 5
Full Time: 37.50 hours per week
Substance Misuse Service and Dual Diagnosis (SMS & DD) is an innovative and integrated clinical service at HMP Thameside provided by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. SMS & DD provides assessment and clinical treatment for prisoners with substance addiction. SMS & DD, started in October 2018, is a unique service that provides holistic and integrated model of care to prisoners with substance addiction who often present with complex and challenging needs and multiple morbidities including physical and mental health problems. SMS provides clinical care within a team of specialist practitioners comprising specialist substance misuse doctor, non-medical prescribers, substance misuse nurse practitioners, dual diagnosis lead nurse, and substance misuse support workers.
Because of a recent promotion, we are currently seeking 2 Band 5 nurses. We are looking for either RMNs or RGNs. This exciting opportunity will offer the post holders the opportunity to assist in the overall delivery of clinical care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team. In return, the post holders will gain invaluable clinical experience in substance misuse and opportunities for continuous professional development within an excellent working and supportive environment.
This position is to commence immediately following a successful interview and completion of pre-employment checks.
